About Us - Palu Palu

Welcome to Palu Palu – a place where passion for tropics, natural ecosystems, and extraordinary plants becomes everyday reality. Our mission is to create spaces where nature can breathe, grow, and delight the eye, even if you’re hundreds of miles away from a real rainforest. Palu Palu was born from fascination with tropical biodiversity and the desire to bring it into homes and workshops of enthusiasts across Europe.

What inspired Palu Palu?

It all began with observing natural microhabitats in rainforests – mosses growing on tree trunks, miniature orchids hidden under leaves, tiny invertebrates maintaining ecosystem balance, and the microclimate forming between leaves and layers of humid air. Over time, these observations evolved into a practical passion: creating paludariums, terrariums, and small fragments of the tropics behind home glass.

We wanted to create a place where other hobbyists could find not only plants and accessories but also reliable knowledge and support. That’s how palu-palu.eu was born – a shop and knowledge base for everyone who wants to build their own microworld.

What we do?

🌿 Miniature orchids and rare plants

We specialize in miniature and hard-to-find species from families like Pleurothallidinae, Lepanthes, Platystele, Specklinia, Scaphosepalum and many others. We carefully select plants based on health, stability, and suitability for terrarium conditions.

These plants, with their small size and unique structure, create the atmosphere of real, humid mountain valleys in paludariums.

🪱 Microfauna – natural balance

Our offer includes springtail species, including varieties such as Ceratophysella isabellae in unique yellow albino form. Microfauna plays a key role in substrate cleanliness, organic matter cycling, and maintaining biological balance. It’s an ideal addition to paludariums, vivariums, and terrariums.

🧪 Accessories and equipment

We offer:

  • 3D printed mini pots, shelves, and plant mounting brackets,

  • elements helping create the right microclimate,

  • substrates and components for custom mixes.

We personally design and test everything to ensure functionality, durability, and plant safety.

🧬 Experiments, in vitro cultivation, and development

We also work on propagating certain species in vitro to increase the availability of rare plants and share stable breeding material. We use professional sterilization methods and hobby laboratories, giving us direct control over seedling health.

Our philosophy

At Palu Palu, we believe that every piece of nature – even small – can inspire and calm. That’s why we focus on:

  • naturalness – we support solutions based on biological balance,

  • education – we share knowledge through our blog, product descriptions, and educational materials,

  • quality – plants, microfauna, and accessories are carefully selected and prepared,

  • honesty – detailed descriptions, real photos, and reliable information about cultivation challenges.

We want every customer, regardless of experience level, to create their own small ecosystem – beautiful, stable, and long-lasting.

Who is Palu Palu for?

  • for paludarium, vivarium, and terrarium enthusiasts,

  • for miniature orchid collectors,

  • for microfauna breeders,

  • for those seeking unique, hard-to-find plants,

  • for those who want to bring tropical nature into their home.

From the start, we’ve strived to make our shop welcoming to both beginners and advanced hobbyists.

Why trust us?

  • Every plant undergoes inspection and acclimatization before shipping.

  • Microfauna comes from clean, stable cultures, free from contamination.

  • Our 3D printing is done with precision and designed for high humidity conditions.

  • We advise not just on “what to buy” but primarily on how to care for your paludarium to work as well as ours.

Our vision

We want to develop Palu Palu as a place that combines shop, knowledge, inspiration, and community. We plan to introduce more rare species, publish articles about cultivation techniques, and provide educational materials about microfauna, paludariums, and modern breeding methods.
